Q: If I switch my existing service to Illinois Telephone, will I have to change my phone number?
A: No. Illinois Telephone Corporation can switch your existing line(s) from many different carriers and you will keep all of your same telephone numbers.

Q: If I switch my service to Illinois Telephone, do I need to contact my current provider?
A: No. Your current local telephone service provider will be notified automatically when your service has switched to us, and they will send you a final bill.

Q: If I order new service from Illinois Telephone, will they need to run new phone wires to my home?
A: No. Illinois Telephone Corporation leases the existing phone lines that are already on the poles and connected to each building.

Q: Can I use your standard land line phone service to connect to the Internet?
A: Yes (dial-up). Local and local toll calling is unlimited for one low monthly price, so you won't be charged a per minute rate on your phone bill while your online.

Q: What is the total cost to connect new phone service to my home?
A: Connecting one new phone line requires payment of the connection fee and first month of service, this comes to $95.00 total. We also offer plans with a reduced connection fee if you are on certain types of federal assistance. Please note that this does not include installation or repair of any building wiring or phone jacks.

Q: What is the total cost to switch my existing phone line to Illinois Telephone?
A: Customers prepay $70.00 for the one time setup fee and the first month of service.

Q: If I have or need additional phone lines, what is the cost?
A: Additional phone lines are available at a discounted rate of $29.99 per month plus tax.

Q: What if I need a new phone jack installed or have a problem with the wiring inside my home?
A: The connection fee does not include any building wiring repair or jack installation, however, we do offer this service.  Call us today regarding current rates.

Q: What is the fastest way to order phone service from Illinois Telephone?
A: The fastest way is to call us toll free at 1-800-480-4198. Your order can be processed right over the phone.

Q: What is the distance I can call unlimited with the "I-Tel Saver Plus" package?
A: Local toll calling is an area on a map rather than mileage based. Your total local toll calling area will depend on where you live. For Chicago and its outlying suburbs the area is quite large. It encompasses all of the following area codes: 312, 773, 630, 708, 847, 224 and part of 815. For other areas please call us for more information.

Q: Does Illinois Telephone provide the ability to receive collect calls?
A: No. Illinois Telephone does not have a billing agreement with any carrier to bill users for collect calls however we can put you in touch with a company that will provide this service with your landline.

Q: Can I use a prepaid calling card to make long distance calls, instead of choosing a long distance provider?
A: Yes. All prepaid calling cards that have a toll-free access number may be used from your telephone line(s) provided by Illinois Telephone Corporation. You will not be charged any extra fees by our company for using prepaid calling cards.
